York to Sheffield
Once out of the historic City of York, the second day route of Yorkshire’s spectacular Grand Départ is tough, with lots of uphill and down dale sections, passing through Knaresborough, Harrogate, the Brontë’s Haworth, Hebden Bridge and Huddersfield, winding its way to the finish in Sheffield. One of the hardest sections is perhaps Day Two’s most famous climb at the ‘Côte de Holme Moss’ just south of Last of the Summer Wine’s Holmfirth.
Please note the route from York to Sheffield is as close to the Grand Départ 2014 race route as possible, but there may be some minor changes for safety reasons, for example where one-way systems dictate.
